Weoften get asked by visitors to the museum do we use the cars that are on display, the answer is yes we do, we go to lots of car runs and shows through out the year but we also take them out just for a drive when we feel like it, and dont always wait until we have a sunny day as can be seen in the photos below that were taken on the roughty valley vintage club run in march , we had our 1948 Bentley and our not so old 1990 mercedes out on that run when coditions were very wintery

 

MG TD restoration

work on the MG has been progressing nicely, engine has been rebuilt, bodywork repaired , new dashboard made to replace the rotten original, and paintwork has been completed, the seats and interior panels are getting recovered and will be fitted shortly

Another project ongoing here at the museum this winter, a restoration of  1951 MG TD sports car, the car requires a full mechanical and body rebuild, photos of the restoration will be posted here as work continues

  

  

West cork landrover run

We had a visit from the west cork landrover run on sunday 9th of july, as we are landrover enthusiasts we joined the run and organised an interesting route through some little used roads and valleys to arrive at the museum where we had arranged a wood fired pizza oven who kept all the group fed with delicious handmade pizzas and salad while they looked around the museum

 

  

Ford model T restoration

We have just finished a 2 year rebuild of a 1926 ford model T , it has been built up from a bare chassis using nearly all original parts and it is ready to go back on the road after being laid up for nearly 60 years

 

DKW club visit

We recentley had a visit from the DKW club ireland,  the club had a great weekend touring cork and kerry with some cars coming from germany, belgium and the UK

Ford Model T restoration

work is progressing on the 1926 Ford model T, it now has a full rolling chassis with a rebuilt engine in place , the radiator and exhaust is now fitted and it will be soon ready to start the engine, the work on the body is also progressing with the panels now fitted to the rolling chassis, watch this space for more updates
