Ford Model T restoration

work is progressing on the 1926 Ford model T, it now has a full rolling chassis with a rebuilt engine in place , the radiator and exhaust is now fitted and it will be soon ready to start the engine, the work on the body is also progressing with the panels now fitted to the rolling chassis, watch this space for more updates

Porsche club ireland

we had a visit from the porsche club of ireland recentley while they were re run of some of the old circuit of ireland rally stages,  these were molls gap, borlin, ardgroom, cods head, healy pass, ballaghbeama and more, these are all great driving roads that cross the cork kerry borders and are all close to us and the town of kenmare where the club stayed for the weekend

Citroen 2CV club visit

This week we had a visit from some members of the Irish 2cv club, production of these iconic cars ended in July of 1990 and the club marked this anniversary by starting their weekend away by visiting the museum.

Summer is here and it shows with all the interesting cars visiting us recentley, there was a group from the kingdom vintage and classic car club and a number of classic VW cars and vans from the netherlands that are currentley touring ireland

VBOA international

we had a visit from the vauxhall bedford opel association this weekend, there was a very impressive display of vauxhalls from the 1920,s to the 1980,s with over 35 cars present, as this was the VBOA,s international meeting in ireland there were members from ireland, england, holland and australia here for the event

Ford model T

This week we have been trial fitting the body panels on the chassis to see how they are fitting and to work out what repairs are required,  as most of the bodywork is nearly ninety years old there is some welding to be done , it is a slow process but we are making progress.

Bank holiday weekend

we had a visit on saturday from the irish deaf vintage club, they were on a visit to the ring of kerry for the weekend and stopped here as part of their trip,

Easter sunday

On easter sunday we particapated in the local roughty valley vintage club run, this was a short run for cars, tractors and motorbikes that left from kilgarvan and travelled through ballyvourney and stopped at the the Top of coom pub, we had 52 entries in total, many of these being new members on their first vintage event, we had a glorious sunshine on the day which was much appreciated.

New Café improvements

We have made some improvements to the museum during the winter and one of these improvements is the addition of a new entrance to the museum with room for more tables and chairs so now visitors can now enjoy a coffeee or tea in the sunshine but can still see the exhibits
